Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.Martin Luther King was an activist who fought for racial equality. King, preached peaceful protest and to counter hate with love. Much like many biblical principles King advocated for his followers to turn the other cheek. As Martin Luther King puts it, "Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.", to show his peaceful beliefs. King advocated for an American where blacks and whites could live alongside each other with no hatred, but rather harmony and peace. In his own words," I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character." King was very intelligent, he even went to college at the age of 15. Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968 for standing up and campaigning for his righteous beliefs.

Malcom X.Malcom X took a different approach to racial inequality. When he was only 15, Malcom X had already been arrested, this may be in part due to his troubled raising as his father was murdered and his house burnt down by the Ku Klux Klan. He figured that it was best that white people and black people simply separate and govern themselves. Malcom X stated, "All we're saying now is since we're already dived, the least the government can do is let us control the areas where we live.", to show his convictions Malcom X believed that people should be able to defend themselves particularly against violent racists. Malcom X believed, "Since self-preservation is the first law of nature, we assert the African-American’s right of self-defense. The Constitution of the USA clearly affirms the right of every American citizen to bear arms." to show his stance on self-defense. Malcom X also rebuked Christianity as he saw it as a "white man's" religion rather he became a black Muslim.
