1960sThe 1960s gave much of America a strong voice. The oppressed were now speaking out, more so than ever before. Protests became quite regular and civil rights were fought for. The Cold War did not seem to have any end in sight. Now with the Space Race, the US and the USSR seemed to have higher tensions than ever before. The fight against the spread of communism was still raging; one of the main targets of the US was Cuba. Later Cuba was found harboring Soviet nuclear weapons, this led to one of the largest crisis's that the world had ever seen. Shortly later, President Kennedy would be assassinated and therefore set up Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency.
